Celebration at the beach :)

Nala bracing herself in the car on the way to Auntie Leanne's while mommy and daddy go on vacation for their 2 year anniversary!

There was a lot of fog as we got to the coast and on the bridges it looked we like we were driving up to heaven or something because we could see nothing but a few feet of road in front of us.

Our AMAZING place! Not picture here is the 4 star-3 course breakfast, continous snacks and drinks, jacuzzi bathtub, mini-theatre with 2,000 DVDs to choose from, and all right on the coast. Sweetness. (thank you off-season:)  ).

The eerie fog the night we arrived.

A sweet in-house kitty keeping us company.

What we woke up to in the morning. Couldn't see this amazing view that foggy night. Loved this.

The view to one side.

An awesome lighthouse we didn't even know was there!

It again.

and again...it was really cool!

walking on the beach. lots of fishermen.  we saw them catch 5 sharks and saw 3 other dead ones on the beach.  no swimming here for me!

and birds like in Indiana Jones the last crusade. anyone with me??

another fisherman at the cape

right here at the cape 2 currents meet and make all these crazy waves (the Gulf Stream and the Laborador currents)

yay!

enjoying the view and a great book.

enjoying those things again.

Another historic lighthouse on the way home that we missed in all the fog on the way there.

the part of the bridge that looked like we were taken to heaven in all the fog. didn't look like that so much in normal weather.

pretty sunset on the way home

A.I. someone must have been sending us a message to creat artificial intelligence.

The sunset got better. That's the end folks! And a great great great 2nd anniversary (thanks to the off-season rates! Go December weddings!!!)

Christmas is here!

On our way up to the Virginia tree farm the leaves were sooo beautiful!

Testing for good smell quality

We tagged our favorite so we wouldn't loose it while checking out any other prospects

Falling

Timber!

Waiting for the tractor to pick us up and take us back.

On the tractor ride. I am such a sucker for fun farm stuff!

My tree cutting hubbie on the tractor

All tied down on our sedan. Everyone else there had huge F250s and SUVs. We were a little out of place...us city folk

Our tree at home...not decorated quite yet. If you look really close you can see Panda's tail. They loved our tree, though they are usually scared of the tiniest new thing in our house. They love the outdoors...which I guess were just brought inside!

Merry Christmas season, y'all!!

Amy and David visit!

We had visitors to North Carolina!  It was such a blessing to get to spend some of our summer days with great friends.  We took them around the cool places and here are some pictures of our times together.

cloud over airport

The huge cumulonimbus cloud over the airport.  It looked like a mountain and was full of thunderstorm.  Would they make it in?!

me and amy at airport

Yes! They made it in!  Amy and me and the airport--no not a rave. :)

trivia night with community group3

Trivia night at Finnigan's Wake Irish Pub.  (with winston friends too)

trivia night with community group2

They were technically not on our team (cause then we'd have too many) but you may notice how they are slyly slipping us answers :)

trivia night with community group4

Mmmm.  Sweet tea and water. :)

trivia night with community group5

Amy's idea of a pub spa.  It was awesome!

trivia night with community group6

trivia night flee from the thunder!

A quick flee from the thunderstorm that burst right before the last question was asked.  It had to be continued inside.

dinner in charleston

Dinner in Charleston (not Charlottesville...Amy).

charleston chew

What better place to eat a Charleston Chew?!

the cool bridge to our hotel

The cool new bridge on our way to the hotel.  We just made it there in time to escape the thunderstorm.  But it looked sooo cool from the bridge.  Notice a pattern here?

breakfast and a HOT walk on the battery

A HOT walk along the battery...and yes, breakfast for David. :)

David and me at the battery

Yeah, our house is the one right behind my head.  Amy and David bought the one next door.

AND THEN OUR CAMERA BATTERY DIED :(.  But Amy and David have the rest of the trip on their camera. :) Also check out David's xanga for his video on our Harry Potter adventures, midnight 7/20/07 www.xanga.com/davidrcole.

A dinner with the Cole's

Yes, another hot summer day in the South...but this evening would have a tasty dinner surprise.

To start off with an important fact: David loves BBQ.  Being his wife I knew about this. So when I saw some neighbors moving out with a free sign on their old BBQ (charcoal et al included) I took the chance to make his day.  Yesterday we got the chance to use it for the first time and thought we should document the occasion.

Fixin's all ready for the patties!

BBQ5

Panda wanting some too, but too scared of this wierd hot thing in her safe little back porch.

BBQ10

Nala is so scared of the BBQ she is hiding under the shed.

BBQ6

But here it is!

mmm so yummy!!

BBQ9

And Panda finally got brave enough to find some crumbs on the ground. Nala was only coaxed out awhile after the BBQ was over.  Maybe next time she will join us...probably not ;).

Celebration with teachers

The last day at work was yesterday doing copious amounts of paperwork together.  And we finished off the year at La Bambas.  I will miss my fellow teachers so much and am forever greatful for their help with crazy kids, and laughs when I needed them.  They are a great group of people.
